Why can't I use my bare domain (yourbrand.com)?
A bare domain, also called the root or apex, can't take a CNAME record. That's a rule of DNS, not ours. Use a subdomain such as blog.yourbrand.com, offers.yourbrand.com or reports.yourbrand.com.
Will connecting touch my existing website or email?
No. The page or blog is hosted by us, entirely separate from your site. Connecting it only adds one record for a new subdomain. Nothing on your existing domain is edited, so your website and email carry on exactly as before.
My domain is behind Cloudflare, another proxy or a CDN. Is that OK?
Yes. We verify the routing either way.
Do I need to tell you once I've added the record?
No. Our system watches for the record, confirms the routing on its own and sets up HTTPS. It keeps checking until the domain verifies.
The address still isn't working. What should I check?
- The record type is
CNAME, notA,TXTor a URL redirect. - The host or name is only the subdomain part, e.g.
blog, notblog.yourbrand.com.yourbrand.com. Some DNS providers add your domain automatically. - The target matches the address we sent you exactly, with no typos, spaces or
https://. - There's no other record (such as an
AorAAAArecord) on the same subdomain. A subdomain with a CNAME can't have other records. - You saved the change at the provider that actually manages your DNS. If your domain uses Cloudflare nameservers, the record must be added in Cloudflare, not at the registrar.

Do I need to buy hosting or an SSL certificate?
