A good brief usually takes about five minutes. You don't need a finished document. Plain answers to a few questions are enough.
What we need to start
- Your business name.
- What you sell, including what's in it and what it costs.
- Roughly who buys it.
- The one action you want visitors to take, such as calling, booking, requesting a quote or starting a trial.
- Where the page should live: your own domain, a subdomain we provide or our network. Not sure? Say so and we'll recommend one. See Where can my work be published?
Facts worth adding
Anything you send is used on the page instead of being guessed at. Anything you don't tell us, we either ask about or leave out. We never invent it.
- Prices or how pricing works.
- Service areas and opening or call-out hours.
- Licence numbers, certifications and insurance.
- Your phone number, booking link or checkout URL.
- Pages on your site you want linked.
- Anything we must or must not say.
Brand material
If you have a logo, brand colours, fonts or a price list, send them.
No brand kit? That's normal and fine. Say so in the brief and the page still gets an original design and artwork, not a template. See Will the page match my brand?
On a deadline?
Say so in your brief and we'll prioritise the order. The Pro and Complete plans also include faster publishing, which moves your order ahead of the normal queue.
Changing the brief later
- If we misread the brief or got a detail wrong, we fix it free.
- A new brief, such as a different offer or audience, is a new page. We'll tell you that up front.
